On Writing More
This weekend, I read Robert’s Write whatever whenever, which was inspired in part by BinaryDigit’s Trying to blog more often.
Both were timely reads since I’ve been grappling with my own thoughts around writing and blogging on here.
What’s all this for? Should I have a content plan? Who’s coming to read this? Who’s my target audience? What’s going to get captured by the bots and served up elsewhere?
The truth is: I’ve been here before. I’ve started many a blog, and always found myself fighting against my marketer-by-day thinking. All of those other blogs were shuttered because of that internal struggle.
Now, fortunately, I know better. I’m not writing for anybody else. I’m writing for me. If others enjoy what I’m publishing, then great!
This is an exercise in creativity. In using my (typed) voice. In getting the words knocking around my head out into the wild and seeing what may come, so that I may find new perspectives.
So, thanks, Robert & B. I needed the reminder.
Write whatever whenever, indeed. ✌🏼
